Spencer's 2nd Birthday

We have had some real fun over the last couple of weeks as we have celebrated Spencer's birthday. I decided I wanted to try my hand at making his birthday cake this year and I was actually really happy with how it turned out. I am a little insecure about posting a picture because it definitely pales in comparison to others I have seen (Danny and Nichole). That's okay though Spencer loved it. He is really into dirt right now, ever since he watched the trucks working behind our house with Grandma, so that is what inspired this Cookies and Cream Creation. We shard this cake with the Miller family on Spencer's birthday and were lucky enough to have Uncle Nate come all the way from California Ü.

I don't have any pictures from the party at Grandma Scott's because I forgot my camera. It was a lot of fun and Spencer got his new bike which is now a hit with all of his friends. He also got a bubble gun that I totally have enjoyed. I let Spencer have a turn every once in awhile.

We wrapped up the festivities with a party here at our apartment complex. There were 6 kids with birthdays around Spencer's so we had one big combined party. It was a lot of fun. There was a pinata, cupcakes, Creamies and friends. What more can you ask for? I guess Spencer wanted another try at the pinata because long after it was broken and the crowed had cleared I found him over by the tree swinging the stick at the empty string that was left hanging there.

Thanks everyone for making Spencer's 2nd birthday so much fun!

Leap of Faith

For those readers of this blog that may not know yet Scott has decided to go back to school up at Utah State. In August we will be leaving the apartment complex that we have lived in since we got married. We will miss all of our wonderful friends and family but we are also looking foward to our new adventure. I am a little nervous about all the change but Scott is so excited to finish his education that I can't help but be excited too. We both just feel so good about this choice and we know Logan is the right place for us right now. At USU he will be majoring in Geography and minoring in GIS. Most people don't know what GIS is so here is my best explanation. It's basically the technology that goes into navigation systems, and GPS types of technology. It's a perfect fit for Scott and I have no doubt that he will do great. Money will be tight but we will be fine. If anyone knows of a great apartment or any apartment complex that needs an awesome manager let me know. So I guess all there is to say now is...Go Aggies!

Torture

Today is a bad mom day. One of my biggest beefs with blogs is that often times it seems like everyone else has a perfect life and yours has no chance of ever matching up. Well, to spare all of you that are reading this from feeling that way today I will come out and say that life is not perfect today. Last Friday we took away Spencers binki. At first I thought it was going pretty well but we have since taken a turn in the wrong direction. Spencer has not taken a nap since last friday and as each day comes and goes and he gets more and more tired he becomes harder and harder to handle. This morning he woke up at 5:00 am and now he is so tired. It's nap time but he is in his bed screaming as if I am torturing him. I have no idea what to do from here. Feeling very humbled and like not a very good mom I ask for any advice.

A True Mother's Day

Today I had the type of day I think every mother needs every now and then. At the gym the other day I saw a few minutes of the movie "27 Dresses" I thought it looked pretty good and decided it was worth seeing the whole thing. Spencer had a really bad night last night and I didn't get a lot of sleep and I was just dragging all morning. So this afternoon I went to Red Box and got the movie and then came home and put Spencer down for his nap. For the next 107 minutes it was just Me, the chick flick and a bag of cinnamon bears. I closed the office turned off the door bell and the phones and had some me time. I feel so refreshed! I am however fighting a small feeling of guilt knowing that Scott has been out all day working hard, and that I ate a half a bag of cinnamon bears.

New and improved!

I want to give a little shout out to my awesome friend and sister-in-law Rae for teaching me how to be a little more blog literate. If anyone is still checking in after 2 months of nothing new rest assured I will be updating a little more often. This was supposed to be Scott's thing but, whatever, I guess it's my baby now. Thanks again Rae for your help.

The many faces of Spencer

What can I say? I am a proud mom and I feel it is my obligation to share these pics od Spencer

Basketball Kisses

Scott and Spencer were having so much fun playing with the basketball, but wouldn't you know that as soon as I start to record this happens

What I have to say...

Scott is the master mind behind this whole blog thing but I thought I would put in my two cents. Life is good at the Miller home right now. I am so happy that it is getting a little warmer and that soon I can take Spencer outside to play more. I am pretty sure that he is bored of me and the inside of our apartment. Today we walked to McDonalds and it felt so good to feel the warm sun on my back. Spencer finally got up the nerve to venture into the playplace and climb around a bit. He seemed to really love it so if you notice in the following month that I pack on a few pounds you will know that we are frequenting the Micky D's.
In a couple weeks Scott and I will be celebrating our 4th anniversary. We dicided we would make it big this year so we are leaving the boy with family and going to Disneyland! I haven't been since highschool so it should be fun. We intend to forget about all our responsibilities and just live it up in the happiest place on earth.
I know Scott just posted some pics but here are a few of my favorites.

Update on the Millers... Nothing really new!!

OK OK I know pretty much all of our blog readers have given up on this blog because well the last time it was updated was before Christmas. So, if there is anyone else out there reading... good for you and thanks for sticking with us.
Time seems to be flying lately. I've been driving for UPS and learning new routes pretty much every week now which seems to add to the stress level in my life but I'm learning the valley really well. I'm so ready for spring though. For Christmas I got a handheld Garmin GPS unit for geocaching I've done a couple of caches it is so fun. During the summer that is what I'll be doing on the weekends. If you haven't tried geocaching it is alot of fun. Even Melissa kind of likes it. It is fun for the whole family.
Melissa is working hard at home trying to teach our near 2 yr old to not scream bloody murder over everything. She does a great job. We (...Melissa) are still managing Alta Pines and will probably be here until we have our 4th child and we get kicked out by the owners.
We have found a new game that we both love its called ticket to ride it is so addicting. Well I'm sure I'm missing some other important information but until next month here are some pictures of the family.
