The wait will soon be over...

The last three weeks have probably been the longest of my life. Just goes to show I have had a pretty good life but waiting for a baby to come "any day now" gets a little old. I won't go into all the details but it seems as if this baby just doesn't ever want to come out. When I had Spencer I was induced because my water broke but it took 21 hours of labor to get him here. I was dead set against being induced this time around because I wanted it to go faster the natural way. Funny how your strong opinions can change when you are moody and sick of being pregnant. The doctor will be inducing me tomorrow and convinced me that it will go much faster this time because my body is so ready and it's the second child. Hopefully my next post is full of great news and great pictures!

Killing Time

The clock is ticking and as the due date of Baby Miller comes closer here are some of the things we have come up with to keep ourselves entertained...

Walking the mall. I am not lying when I say I have done it 5 times in the last two days.

Scrubbing each kitchen floor tile on my hands and knees...I believe they refer to this as nesting.

Eating spicy food. Cafe Sabor..mmmm

Drove Logan Canyon hoping that elevation change would do the trick. Nope, but it was pretty.

Enjoying time with the two guys in my life right now while waiting on number three.

I have been dilated to a three for over a week now and am officially out of ideas on how to get things movin'. I am keeping myself up at night delusionally thinking every pain means I am in labor. I have told myself I just need to relax and the baby will come when its ready but that is easier said than done. I finally asked Scott today to please stop saying in his prayers, "bless the baby that he will continue to grow." I guess I am just ready to have our little guy here. If anyone wants to share ideas on how to make that happen a little faster you are welcome to share but keep it clean Ü.

Scott is doing awesome in school and I am so proud of him. I know he is a little worried about how busy he is and having a newborn but I know he will take good care of us. He always does. My only job is to not have the baby on Monday or Tuesday because he has huge tests.

Spencer seems excited about the baby and we talk about it all the time. He keeps mentioning that its time for Mommy and Daddy to go to the doctor so he can play with Grandma. I think he is looking forward to getting rid of me for a couple days. He is such a good boy. Here are some highlights from the last few weeks.

Spencer has helped with getting all the baby stuff ready. He likes this bouncy seat more now then he ever did as a baby. He might have a hard time sharing.

We have done a little baking. Spencer is under weight and I have given up so bring on the baked goods!

Quality father son time. This is a wife's dream come true.

Our friends came up to visit and it was so nice to have then here. Abbie is now the love of his life and he absolutely loved playing with her. Thanks for coming up!

Baby Stuff

I have decided to swallow my pride and post a picture of myself at this awful huge state that I am currently existing in. Judge if you will and if it makes you feel better about how you look pregnant or not I am glad I could help. I am feeling pretty good although I feel like I should be having this baby a lot sooner than I am.

These are the issues that I am currently struggling with and if anyone has two cents they would like to throw in my direction I am open to advise.

#1 I am considering splurging a bit and getting a boppy. If you had one did you love it or think it was just in the way and too expensive?

#2 Nursing tops (special underwear Ü). Sensitive issue to put out in the blogging world I know but I would love some feedback on if people liked them or not. I didn't have them with Spencer and have been wondering if that route might make the nursing process more comfortable especially when it comes to being modest. Nursing was a 7 month trial with Spencer and I am open to any ideas to make it a little easier and more enjoyable this time around.

#3 Spencer- I am wondering what I can do to make the process as easy on him as possible. I really only have one person up here in Logan that I would be comfortable leaving Spencer with when it's time to head to the hospital. My mom has offered to come up right away when the time comes but that still leaves a few hours before she can make it and I am a little nervous about what I will do if my one friend, sad I know, isn't available. I know I could call my R.S. Pres she is a really sweet lady but I don't know her that well and more importantly neither does Spencer.

#4 I'm grumpy. Seriously, I am not normally this moody but you know it's bad when I recognize it on my own. Thanks for your patience Scott. After Spencer was born I was so busy with my job and my calling that I never really worried about post pardom blues but I am a little worried about it this time around because Scott will be in school and I will be home alone a lot.

After reading over this post I am realizing that I sound totally inadequate to be a mom of a newborn. I reassure you that we are ready and very excited. I guess the anticipation is making me a little anxious about the details but we can't wait for our little guy to get here. I am so grateful for the chance I have to be a mom. I am so blessed to have wonderful family and friends that care about me and my little family.

I am a Blogging Failure...Happy New Year!

It has been a really long time since I updated and if there is anyone out there still reading this I hope this was worth the wait and thanks for checking in.

We have had a great holiday season. We were able to spend time with all of our siblings and Spencer loved playing with his cousins. I have heard it said that kids are what make Christmas magical and It truly has gotten better every year with Spencer.

Spencer got some great toys from Santa and others that love him. The basketball hoop is a huge hit. Thanks Grandma! Scott even lets Spencer have a turn every now and then. Spencer asked Santa for a big dump truck, with some coaxing from his mama, and his reaction was great he just kept saying wow, wow. Then he had to get in and take it for a ride.

This is Spencers first snowman. It was a pretty weak snow storm but Spencer loved him. Every time we walked past him we had to stop and pat him on the head. Unfortunately I didn't realize how attached we would become to our snowman and Spencer was quite upset when we got back to Logan after Christmas and all that was left was a little pile with buttons on the ground. I think he has recovered and I have promiced him we will be making another soon.

Transition Complete

Spencer has been sleeping in his new big boy bed for a week now and the transition has gone pretty well. The first night was okay besides him waking up at 5:30 am and refusing to go back to bed. The second night was by far the most eventful. At about 3:00 am I heard a thud and then crying so I ran into his room to find him face down on the floor at the foot of his bed. That's right he worked his way all the way off the bottom of a full size bed. He cried for a minute and then fell back to sleep. About two hours later another thud and more crying this time he fell off the side and wouldn't go back to bed. Since then I think we have worked it out to keep him from falling off and now we are officially through all the steps we needed to accomplish to be ready for the baby. My Mom and Dad were so generous and gave us the bed I used to sleep in back in the day and after a dramatic painting project we have this awesome bed. Thanks again Mom and Dad.

Belated Halloween Post

Spencer and I spent Halloween at Grandma and Grandpa Scott's this year for two reasons. First becasue Scott had to work and second because Grandpa knows how to make it a crazy fun night. Grandpa kept us laughing by scaring unsuspecting trick or treaters. Spencer had a hard time keeping up with his ninja cousins but still ended up learning the tricks of the trade and coming home with a nice load. He also loved wearing his dragon costume.

The Pumkin Walk

We spent a fun afternoon last week at the North Logan Pumpkin Walk. The displays were so great and it was a beautiful fall afternoon to spend some time together as a family. Look closely because all the scenes are done with only pumpkins and gourds and they are pretty amazing.

Spencer Loves this book and I think he makes an adorable Max.

He loves Veggie Tales. We had to come to this one twice becasue he would not leave until he got to see Bob and Larry again.
I have had some requests to post pictures of my growing tummy so here you go.
This Noah's Ark one was our favorite. Look closely at the pigs and the elephants, okay all the animals are really creative.

I know this looks like it could be border line abuse but both Spencer and Scott love wrestling together.

Fall Fun

It has been a long time since I posted pictures so here are a few to share with you the fun of the last month.

Spencer sporting a tie to church for the first time. He looks so grown up.

My sister Jen came up to visit us last week and Spencer had a great time with his big cousins. Landon is so sweet to Spencer and Spencer followed him around like a puppy dog. Cason is a little more tough than Spencer is used to but Spencer still asks for him every morning when he wakes up. It was great to have some sister time and I appreciate her staying up way past her bed time to talk.

This handsom fellow pictured below is Scott on top of Naomi Peak. It is the highest peak in Cache Valley and I think this picture is beatiful.

I really wanted to learn how to can peaches this year and I have to show off my work a little bit. My mom was so great to come up to Logan and spend the day teaching me the ins and outs of canning. I grew up eating home canned peaches and I am so glad to have them in my home again. Thanks Mom!
Logan has a great little zoo that only costs Spencer and I $1.50 to go to. For 10 cents we bought some food for the ducks and it was the best $1.60 we ever spent.

This picture is taken at the park next to the zoo. It may not seem like much but it has taken me all summer to get him to try a swing.

They had a fun little Family Day at USU and we had a great time. The tractor was definately a highlight as well as digging in the sand and eating all sorts of treats.

Two of Spencers favorite things. My heels and the potty. We haven't officially started potty training yet but I let him try to go in the potty every night before his bath. About half of the time a tiny little tinkle will come out and he gets so proud of himself.
